Towerbell turns 125th

The local community of Kottweiler-Schwanden celebrates the 125th anniversary of the tower in the district of Kottweiler on June 29th and 30th, 2019 under the direction of the Vereinsring. The local mayor Gabriele Schütz opens the celebration on Saturday at 18.00 o’clock with a keg beer tapping. In the course of the evening you will be put in the right mood with varied music. On both days interested parties can dive into the past by attending film screenings and a photo exhibition under the slogan ‘Living around the tower‘. Also vintage tractors, the demonstrations of the saw artist and short covered wagon tours provide on both days for diversity. On Sunday, the festival will continue at 11.00 a.m. with an early pint concert by the Kottweiler-Schwanden Music Society. After lunch, the local mayor will give us a detailed overview of the tower’s rich history. The highlight of the tower festival will be the historical fashion show organized by Marion Borger-Urschel. Under the motto „Fashion in the course of time“, teenagers will show historical fashion in several blocks for all kinds of occasions. Between the fashion blocks you will be entertained by well-known and popular street musicians. The local clubs have prepared a wide range of food and drinks for you.
