13. Schnellbach
At this point, the Hainbuchental branches into three small valleys, each with a source stream. The middle valley is called „Schnellbach“. It extends beyond the boundaries of the district up to Fockenberg-Limbach. The stream that rises there and the groundwater that emerges from the Geisrech accumulates in the Schnellbach-Wiesengrund and runs rapidly towards the Hainbuchental with a steep gradient.
The name „Schnellbach“ was created before 1600 and is derived from the Middle High German word „snell“ for fast, quick, lively, powerful and is ascribed to the high flowing speed of the water.
